The Inner Guide Counsellor
Focus on You
It can sometimes take awhile to accept that you may need some support with your mental health and you gradually notice issues are becoming harder to face and the smallest things now seem overwhelming. Life brings challenges and sometimes they can be too difficult to face alone. Talking to someone you do not know but who you feel you can trust can help you speak and listen to your thoughts out loud. It can be at this point that you begin to become more aware and make connections to enhance your understanding of how to move forward from the issue and be encouraged by this insight and new wisdom.

Sometimes we have to face our fears head on. I often accompany clients to their 'worst scenario' and together we work through the feelings being experienced at the moment and how best to move through them.

For those souls trying to navigate a challenge or obstacle in a partnership or just want to work towards making that connection stronger together through clearer communication and understanding, I also offer partnership therapy which can be found on my booking page.

Since Covid and owning a dog, I have found so many therapeutic benefits when taking a walk and reconnecting with nature and Mother Earth. Not only are you getting exercise and fresh air but walking helps you keep grounded and more in touch with yourself.

Some clients often feel more comfortable exploring their feelings outside the enclosure of a counselling room and walking side by side with someone can be easier when opening up to what difficulties they maybe having such as anxiety, feeling lost, working through a traumatic experience and much more.

Your first session will take place in person where can meet and discuss issues of confidentiality and how we will negotiate encountering other people when out walking. Don't forget it is normal to see people walking and talking together so it won't be obvious that this is a therapist and client relationship. The therapy will be at your pace as it would be in the counselling room. I will be there with you whilst we go on your journey.

Reiki is a universal energy and Reiki practitioners channel this energy though their hands. Reiki is a non-invasive complimentary therapy that supports healing of all dimensions: body, mind and spirit.
Reiki allows us to be in the present moment therefore we will always begin our session with energy healing before the therapy that follows after. This allows the client's mind to be less cluttered and therefore a heightened awareness of self and how to work through the issues at hand leads to more clarity and focus.

As with Reiki, when I connect with the universe my inner guide presents me with wisdom for the other spiritual being I am with at the time. We may explore emotions through a variety of different ways including Tarot or Psy - Cards, Elements of Human Design and Astrology, Mindfulness.....the possibilities are endless.

You are given the freedom to connect with your own inner guide in whichever way you feel comfortable with. Clients find that their compass within is drawn to a particular metaphysical tool and their intuition leads the session with support from myself.

We experience a state of hypnosis every day when we find ourselves daydreaming, just before or after sleep or when you've been driving and realise you've arrived at your destination but can't remember the journey. Hypnosis is a state of awareness that allows you to go to the deeper levels of your unconscious mind where you are open to positive suggestions. Much like dreaming, we see things in our imagination such as a more confident self, a healthier self or even a self no longer frightened of heights, enclosed spaces or like me...bats :0)

Just like talking therapy, hypnotherapy is just as effective online.... there is no difference. Some people feel even more relaxed and comfortable working from their own home or office which can only add to the positive outcome. Recent research concluded that online therapy had equal or better effectiveness compared to face to face therapy.

Hypnotherapy has a wide range of uses and benefits to help with many issues including:-
anxiety, fears/phobias. healing trauma, making changes and many more. I have personally found past life regression to be very effective in understanding repeated cycles of behaviour that are the result of events experienced in a previous existence and healing the wounded inner child where the adult child has been contaminated and influenced by the repressed and un-nurtured feelings of a unhealthy childhood or an event during this time.

Life is tough in today's civilisation, particularly for our young people. There is more pressure and more expectation to achieve, be a certain type of person and ultimately fit in and be accepted.

Young people are often victims of society, care givers or teachers for example where they have been punished and scorned for expressing themselves in ways that others deem unacceptable because of judgement or prejudice. Young people are unable to thrive because of the fear of not belonging.

My main aim is to give young people a safe and non clinical environment for them to be able to talk about their thoughts and feelings and help them to share any worries or problems they may have. Building their confidence and self-worth is paramount in my work and we also have fun and a giggle along the way.
